The overall purpose of the project was to establish a co-management system with a view to ensuring resource sustainably in some selected protected areas of Bangladesh. However, specifically, the project was designed to (i) curb/reduce the trend in degradation of biodiversity (ii) restore/rehabilitate the degraded ecosystems, (iii) ensure participation of local people in biodiversity conservation, and (iv) livelihood improvement of poor resource users.
