Job Context: Nature Conservation Management (NACOM) is the pioneer, non-government, pro-environment organization in Bangladesh was founded in 1998 with a broader mandate of activities in the area of natural resources management, climate change, and livelihood development. NACOM`s goal is the protection of nature for better human life.
NACOM invites applications from potential Bangladeshi nationals (Male/Female) for implementing Ecosystem Conservation through Livelihood Improvement and Forest Enhancement (ECO LIFE) Project, funded by USAID. This is a three-year project to be implemented in Cox`s Bazar, District, Bangladesh.
The intent of the project is to conserve and manage the local ecosystem, resources, and biodiversity within targeted Protected Areas (PA)and Ecological Critical Areas (ECA) to restore ecological functions and integrity while advancing co-management in PAs and community-based management in ECA for consolidating long-term co-management of PAs and ECAs. The focuses of the present project are:
Forest and watershed ecosystems are restored to a functional level in targeted areas;
Targeted host communities adopt less damaging fuel alternatives to firewood;
Sustainable livelihood options adopted by the targeted portion of the host community;
Local Actors` (CMOs, UP, NGOs, and others)organizational capacity strengthened; and
Evidence gathering, collaboration, learning, and adapting monitoring and impact assessment system developed and made functional to inform Funded Organization and other partners.
In order to restore the ecological functions and integrity, it will be necessary to rehabilitate degraded habitats by undertaking restoration programs, protecting critical and threatened species and ecosystems, and building local conservation constituencies through awareness-raising and capacity building of key stakeholders, such As poverty, is the major driver for local forest and resource degradation, livelihood protection of poor resource users through providing alternate income generation activities.
Job Nature: Full-time (9 Months; with a possibility of extension)

Job Responsibilities
Responsible for implementing all livelihood activities on the site.
Assist in beneficiary identification and selection in the following guidelines.
Identify the innovative AIGA options
Conduct FGD, PRA
Assist in developing training modules and conduct AIG skill development training and capacity development training programs for the beneficiaries
Provide backstopping support to CMC/VCF/VCGs
Promote AIG activities among beneficiaries and provide both technical and other support
Ensure quality of all field activities
Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports
Monitor utilization of livelihood support provided to all project beneficiaries.

Educational Requirements
Minimum Graduates in any discipline, preferable in biological sciences from any reputed university
Experience Requirements
At least 6 years
Additional Requirements
Minimum 6 years of working experience in any organization in a similar position. Should have worked with communities and local government agencies.
Sound computer literacy and motorbike driving with valid motorbike riding.
